Adv. Ateeq Ahmad, (Retired Senior Public Prosecutor), is a highly distinguished criminal law professional with nearly four decades of experience spanning advocacy, public prosecution, and senior prosecutorial leadership. Enrolled with the Bar Council in March 1986, he has dedicated his career to the effective administration of criminal justice and the representation of the State before courts of law.

Mr. Ahmad began his legal career as an Advocate in 1986, practising independently for approximately nine years before being appointed as Assistant Public Prosecutor (ASSTT. P.P.) in 1995 on an ad-hoc basis, and subsequently on a regular basis in April 2000 under the Directorate of Prosecution, Delhi. He served in this capacity for nearly nineteen years, conducting a wide spectrum of criminal trials and prosecutions with diligence and professional excellence.

In 2014, he was promoted to the post of Additional Public Prosecutor (ADDL. P.P.), a position he held with distinction until his superannuation on 31 January 2023. As a senior prosecuting officer, he regularly appeared before Trial Courts and other criminal forums, handling complex and sensitive matters involving serious offences, while also supervising prosecutions and guiding junior prosecutors.

Mr. Ahmad possesses comprehensive expertise in conducting all types of criminal cases, with a career marked by disciplined advocacy, deep command over criminal procedure, and balanced prosecutorial judgment. His responsibilities included scrutiny of investigation records, effective presentation of evidence, legal submissions, and ensuring fair and impartial prosecution in accordance with law.

An exceptional highlight of his career is his selection as Public Prosecutor, CBI through UPSC in 1999, where he emerged as the topper of the batch, reflecting his outstanding legal merit and national-level recognition.

Post retirement, Mr. Ahmad has resumed legal practice as an Advocate, continuing to contribute his vast experience and insight to the legal profession.
